Gaudeamus

The Gaudeamus student ID card project began in 2003, using student photo cards. The main objective was to improve student identification and safety, as well as eliminate paper forms and food coupons in canteens. In 2004, an electronic wallet was implemented on cards for payments in canteens and student residences. Today, the cards are used in both public and private universities. Student clinics also use the cards to keep records of health screenings. To date, more than 500,000 ID chip cards have been issued under the Gaudeamus project, of which more than 90,000 are in active use. The application of internationally recognized standards allows for easy integration of the card into different systems and recognition of student identification around the world.
